Local Council Elections
Find out here which candidates support the CEE Bill
David Attenborough said recently that “climate change is the biggest threat to security that modern humans have ever faced”, and that this year’s climate conference in Glasgow (COP26) is possibly “the last opportunity to make the necessary change” to save the planet.
It will take co-ordinated action across local and national government to achieve the herculean task ahead of us. So whilst there are many important local issues to consider in these elections, we think that climate change, which threatens our very survival, ranks in first place.
The Climate & Ecological Emergency Bill offers the best chance of ensuring the UK does its part to head off catastrophic climate change by obliging the Government to follow the science.
We are asking all election candidates for their position on the CEE bill. The more local councils that support it, the more pressure on Government to pass this vital law.
As an organisation we do not support any party above another. But since this is such a vital issue, we ask that in this local election, you only vote for candidates that support the CEE Bill. And if your preferred candidate has not yet backed the bill, why not write to them and ask them to?
